BIOGRAPHY

Hedy Leung is a London-based multidisciplinary artist working across Sogetsu Ikebana, performance, installation, and sound. Her practice explores impermanence, ecological precarity, and cultural transition through ephemeral, site-responsive Ikebana performance. Her work has been presented through cultural projects and exhibitions, fostering an evolving dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression.

Leung is a member of Ikebana International Switzerland (Basel Chapter) & London Chapter. She has practised Sogetsu Ikebana since 2017 under the tutelage of Ho Hin Shing sensei, attaining the Sogetsu Ikebana Teachers' Diploma 2nd Grade in 2025. Expanding beyond traditional frameworks, she approaches Ikebana as a structural  and philosophical foundation of her broader interdisciplinary practice.

Her research draws from embodied knowledge across traditional Chinese botanical medicine, energy and environmental design, and social psychology, informing a practice attentive to the sensory, ecological, and relational dimensions of space and material. Her inquiry into energy balancing led her to complete the BioGeometry Advanced Training (Level 6) in Energy-Quality Balancing & Measurement, Environmental Energy Balancing and Design Principles. Leung is also a certified senior Chinese medicated food dietician, accredited by the International General Chinese Medicated Meal of Self Recovery Association, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Psychology Studies).
